Emilee Herrington

GRADUATE-LEVEL COUNSELING Practicum

Emilee knows firsthand that life brings seasons of hurt and uncertainty. Through her own counseling journey, she experienced the hope and healing that can come from being truly seen, heard, and supported. That experience led her to the counseling profession, where she now has the privilege of walking alongside others in their stories.

Emilee believes every person has inherent worth and deserves to be met with compassion, respect, and understanding. Her desire is to provide a nonjudgmental space where clients can honestly explore their experiences and feel supported as they move toward healing and lasting change.

Her approach to counseling is holistic and client-centered, recognizing the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. She integrates evidence-based practices with empathy, authenticity, and genuine care, tailoring the counseling process to each client’s unique needs, values, and goals. In their work together, her hope is that clients leave each session feeling encouraged, equipped, and empowered to move forward.

For clients who desire it, Emilee also welcomes the opportunity to integrate faith into the counseling process. Her graduate training at Dallas Theological Seminary has deepened her understanding of caring for the whole person, including spiritual well-being. While her perspective is informed by a Christian worldview, she is committed to providing respectful and ethical care to individuals of all religious, spiritual, and non-religious backgrounds. Faith is always incorporated with the client’s consent and in a way that honors their beliefs and supports their goals.

Emilee considers it a privilege to come alongside people during both the difficult and meaningful moments of life. Her hope is that through a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship, clients will discover and build on their strengths, cultivate resilience, and experience greater healing, hope, and purpose.
