Jane Mims
GRADUATE-LEVEL COUNSELING InternJane Mims is a counseling intern who specializes in trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, chronic stress, and identity-related challenges. She works with individuals who feel overwhelmed by old patterns, internal pressure, or a persistent sense of falling short — helping them build emotional steadiness, self-awareness, and practical tools that support lasting change. Whether someone is processing trauma, navigating stress, or feeling stuck in survival mode, Jane offers a grounded, compassionate space for healing and growth.
Jane’s clinical approach integrates EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment theory, and trauma-informed care. She is deeply passionate about the nervous system’s capacity to reorganize and recover, and she uses evidence-based methods to help clients process unresolved experiences, regulate overwhelming emotions, and shift entrenched thought and behavior patterns.
Before entering the counseling field, Jane spent more than two decades in work that mirrors the skills she now brings to the therapy room — helping people tell their stories with honesty (journalism), understand what drives their behavior (communications and behavioral strategy), and learn how to communicate clearly in difficult moments (executive development and team coaching). As a two-time Emmy Award–winning journalist, she learned how to listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, and uncover the narratives beneath the surface — abilities that now shape her therapeutic presence: attuned, direct, curious, and deeply committed to understanding the person in front of her.
Her work centers on helping clients understand the roots of their emotional experiences, strengthen boundaries, navigate relational patterns, and cultivate an internal sense of safety and confidence. She enjoys helping people move from simply managing life to engaging it with intention, authenticity, and resilience.
Jane works with adults, teens, and older adolescents and has a particular interest in trauma recovery, anxiety disorders, attachment wounds, identity development, and high-functioning burnout.
