Justin Meyers
LPC-MHSP (Temp)Justin’s path to becoming a therapist was a personal journey through complex loss and profound recovery. After losing his father to cancer at age nine, he also navigated the deep, ongoing impact of his mother's untreated mental health issues. This set him on a long road of navigating grief and trauma, which eventually led him to 12-step recovery and a personal Christian faith in his early twenties.
It is this lived experience with trauma, recovery, and his own neurodivergence that forms the core of his clinical approach. He understands firsthand the pressure to "manage" a life that feels complex and overwhelming. He is passionate about working with adult men who feel stuck and are ready to move beyond just "coping" to build integrated lives of deep connection, purpose, and meaning.
When working with individuals, Justin emphasizes an integrative, trauma-informed, and identity-affirming approach. He is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), utilizes Somatic Therapies (including breathwork and Polyvagal Theory), and draws heavily from Internal Family Systems (IFS). With thousands of hours of practice and rigorous self-study in IFS, he is currently pursuing official Level 1 certification to formalize his expertise. He specializes in holding the complexity of his clients' lives, whether that means integrating evidence-based modalities with Christian psychotherapy or providing LGBTQIA+ informed care within a faith context.
A New Jersey native, Justin spent the last ten years in New York City—including four years at Redeemer Counseling Services—before moving to Memphis with his wife and two daughters. As a foster parent, he is passionate about creating spaces of belonging and safety. He enjoys pushing against norms he disagrees with and is an avid fan of almost all pro and college sports (especially the NFL, F1, and MLB), which helps him endure his loyalty to the New York Jets. He has a serious sweet tooth, a deep knowledge of Harry Potter, and can be found enjoying the outdoors with his family and their Border Collie.
