Macy Hogue

LPC-MHSP (Temp)

"I’m so glad you’re here. Seeking therapy is not easy, and I honor your courage and bravery in taking this step." If you're feeling stuck, lost, overwhelmed, or exhausted from carrying it all on your own, you’re not alone. Macy believes that therapy is a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. It is a place where you can show up as you are and begin the process of healing and self-exploration.

Too often, society places a stigma on seeking therapy, suggesting that it means we are incapable, struggling, or "broken." Macy challenges this idea, believing that therapy is a unique journey for anyone, at any stage of life, who wants to overcome challenges, better understand themselves, and create meaningful change. To her, therapy is an investment in oneself—an act of courage that fosters insight, emotional growth, and the creation of a future that aligns with one’s values and desires.

Macy’s journey to becoming a therapist was shaped by her own experiences with anxiety and OCD, as well as growing up in an environment where mental health was rarely discussed. She knows firsthand the weight of silent struggles and the isolating feeling of wondering if you're the only one facing internal battles. From a young age, she felt the pressure to appear “okay” even when she wasn’t. She understands what it’s like to carry worries that feel too heavy to share, to overthink everything, and to believe you must hold everything together alone. Through her own journey of self-discovery and healing, Macy learned the power of vulnerability, self-compassion, and breaking free from patterns that keep us stuck. These experiences fuel her passion for helping others navigate their struggles, embrace their authenticity, and find healing in a way that feels true to them.

Macy works with adolescents and adults, with a particular focus on anxiety disorders, OCD, self-esteem issues, mood disorders, and life transitions and stressors. She strives to create a compassionate and supportive space where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and experiences without judgment. She believes that healing, growth, and meaningful change come from self-empowerment, personal insight, and the courage to face life’s challenges.

Utilizing evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual, Macy recognizes that while therapy can be uncomfortable at times, true transformation begins in moments of vulnerability. She also firmly believes that because we experience hurt in relationships, we can also experience healing through them, with hopes for the therapeutic relationship to provide a starting point. To Macy, being a therapist is more than a profession—it is a calling. She is committed to providing a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported, offering love and acceptance just as God has done for all of us.

Originally from Arkansas, Macy moved to Memphis with her husband and their wiener dog, Gwen, shortly after earning her Master’s degree in Counseling. She enjoys reading, cooking, baking, and spending quality time with her family. Macy feels deeply honored to serve the Memphis community and would be privileged to walk alongside you on your path to mental and emotional well-being.
